1). The free energy required for glycosidic bond formation is provided by nucleotide sugars (UDP, GDP, and CMP; Table 21-2 Veot).

2). N-glycosidic linkage: Link to Asn-X-Ser/Thr at ER with the dolichol pyrophosphate glycoside core (further processed at Golgi).

3). O-glycosidic linkage: Posttranslational glycosylation of Ser/Thr at Golgi.

4). How does the glycosylphosphatidylinositol (GPI) acts as an anchor for membrane protein and where is it synthesized?
